Comments Off on INTRODUCING: ROLEX COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA RAINBOW BASELWORLD
The Legendary Chronograph
Rolex is currently introducing a scintillant edition of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. This watch has established an extraordinary history in motor sport’s watch, rising to the status of an icon. On this new 18 Everose golden variant, with a gradation of sapphires in rainbow hues, the bezel is set in lieu of this scale. The case is adorned with 56 diamonds set to crown guard and the lugs, along with the dial features 11 baguette-cut sapphire hour markers, each of which matches the colour of the corresponding point on the bezel. The chronograph counters are in pink Crystals, a material with a particular rainbow impact, created during the crystallization of a gold metal by way of a special process developed by Rolex.
Like all Rolex watches, the Superlative Chronometer certificate, which ensures excellent performance on the wrist is carried by the Cosmograph Daytona.
Its middle case, using an integral crown shield, is crafted from a solid block of 18 ct Everose gold. The situation back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down using a tool that enables only Rolex watchmakers. The winding crown, fitted using the Triplock waterproofness method that is triple, screws securely against the case, together with the chronograph pushers. The crystal is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire. The Oyster instance provides optimum protection for the high-precision movement of the Cosmograph Daytona.
Perpetual Calibre 4130
The Cosmograph Daytona comes with calibre 4130, a mechanical chrono- chart movement. A consummate presentation of Rolex technology, the motion incorporates a reduced variety of elements and a chronograph work, thereby boosting the motion’s reliability.
The strong chronograph is engaged by means of a mechanism using a pillar wheel and vertical clutch, giving an instant and precise beginning. The oscillator, the watch’s heart, has a blue Parachrom hairspring made by Rolex in an paramagnetic alloy. Insensitive to magnetic fields, the Parachrom hairspring provides excellent stability in the face of temperature variations and remains up to 10 times more exact than a conventional hairspring in the event of shocks. Its regularity is ensured by A Rolex overcoil . Calibre 4130 is equipped with a self-winding module via a rotor that was Perpetual and offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
This variant of the Cosmograph Daytona is fitted using an Oysterlock safety clasp and ceramic inserts on a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 18 ct Everose gold to prevent accidental opening. The bracelet comprises the Easylink extension system – tented by Rolex in 1996, which allows the wearer to increase the bracelet length.
Like all Rolex watches, the Cosmograph Daytona is coated by the Superlative Chronometer certification redefined by Rolex in 2015. This exclusive designation testifies that each watch has success- fully experienced a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own standards, which transcend watchmaking criteria and standards. The certificate applies to the fully constructed watch, after casing the motion, guaranteeing performance on the wrist concerning precision, power self-winding, waterproofness and book. The precision of a Rolex Superlative Chronometer after casing is of this order of −2 /+2 seconds per day, or more than twice that required of a formal chronometer.
The green seal that accompanies every Rolex watch and can be coupled with an international guarantee symbolizes the Superlative Chronometer status.
