Blancpain has launched a new classic series of Chinese calendar watches, with a red gold case and a blue Grand Feu enamel dial, giving it a new interpretation.
With a 45mm double-bezel case, the new watch faithfully recreates the iconic aesthetic elements from the original series. Hidden buttons are located under the lugs that allow for the user to adjust the functions of the watch. Blancpain’s exceptional craftsmanship is evident in the dial’s time display. It displays it clearly and incisively. Other time-displaying elements, except for the scale ring made of gold-applied hourmarkers are represented in enamel technology. The hour and minute hands look like slightly sunken willow leafs, which compliment each other with the hands in snake form that indicate the date on the Gregorian Calendar.
This watch is equipped with the 3638 self winding movement. It has many indication functions, irregular running cycles, and a high level of complexity. The red gold-plated oscillating weight has a honeycomb-like design and is engraved with the symbol yin/yang, which is very symbolic for Chinese culture.
